Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 August 2026

AB Slate (“AB Slate”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates abslate.com and related services as a job and hiring platform for candidates and partner companies. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain, and protect personal information when you visit our website, create a candidate account, apply for jobs, upload a resume or CV, contact us, subscribe to updates, or otherwise interact with AB Slate.

AB Slate supports hiring for roles such as delivery, retail, warehouse, field operations, gig work, support, and other operational positions for partner employers and businesses. We process candidate information so that applications can be submitted, reviewed, coordinated, and followed up. This policy is intended to provide practical transparency and is not legal advice. Your rights and our obligations may vary depending on applicable Indian law, the location of the role, and the context in which information is processed.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to personal information processed through the AB Slate website, candidate account area, job application flows, resume upload features, contact forms, newsletter subscriptions, support communications, and administrative systems used to manage the platform. It also applies when our recruitment, operations, or admin teams handle information submitted through the platform.

This policy does not replace any privacy notice given by a partner employer. When you apply for a job listed through AB Slate, the relevant partner company may also process your information for its own hiring, verification, onboarding, workforce planning, compliance, or employment purposes. We encourage you to review any privacy information provided by that employer before accepting an interview, offer, onboarding step, or assignment.

AB Slate is not always the employer of record for listed jobs unless a specific listing, offer, or agreement says so. We may act as a recruitment platform, hiring partner, coordinator, technology provider, or processor of information depending on the role and partner arrangement.

2. Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use AB Slate. We aim to collect information that is relevant to operating the platform, assessing applications, communicating with candidates, supporting partner employers, improving the service, and meeting legal or administrative requirements.

  • Candidate account information - your name, email address, phone number, password credentials stored in hashed form, account preferences, registration date, login activity, and profile updates.
  • Profile and eligibility information - city, location preference, work experience, education, skills, languages, availability, expected salary or payout, preferred job categories, and other details you choose to provide.
  • Application information - jobs you apply for, application answers, cover notes, screening responses, application status, interview or follow-up notes, internal tags, and communications related to hiring.
  • Resume and document uploads - resumes, CVs, portfolios, certificates, identity or eligibility documents if requested for a role, and metadata related to uploaded files.
  • Contact enquiry information - name, email address, phone number, subject, message content, attachments if enabled, and our response history when you contact us through the website or other support channels.
  • Newsletter and update preferences - email address, subscription status, unsubscribe activity, and communication preferences for job alerts, hiring updates, or platform news.
  • Technical and usage information - IP address, browser type, device information, approximate location inferred from technical data, pages visited, referral source, date and time of access, session identifiers, cookie data, error logs, security logs, and basic analytics or diagnostics.
  • Administrative processing data - notes, status changes, assignment history, admin actions, audit records, and internal workflow data generated when AB Slate team members process candidate records, applications, or partner requirements.

Some information is provided directly by you. Some is generated automatically when you use the platform. Some may be received from partner employers, recruiters, referral sources, background verification partners, or service providers where relevant to an application or hiring process.

3. Resume, application, and hiring data

Resumes and application materials often contain detailed personal information. When you upload a resume or submit an application, you are asking AB Slate to process that information for recruitment and hiring-related purposes. This can include reviewing your suitability for a role, matching you with relevant opportunities, sharing your application with the relevant partner employer, coordinating interviews or next steps, maintaining application history, and improving our recruitment workflows.

Your resume may include information such as employment history, education, skills, certifications, contact details, professional profile links, references, and other details you decide to include. Please ensure that the resume and application materials you upload are accurate, current, and appropriate for sharing with hiring teams. If your resume contains information about another person, such as a reference, please make sure you have permission to provide it.

We may keep application history so candidates can track submitted applications and so our team can manage hiring pipelines. Partner employers may keep copies of applications or resumes they receive from us according to their own retention policies. If you ask us to delete your information, we will handle the request as described below, but we may not be able to delete information already processed independently by a partner employer.

4. Sensitive data caution

Please do not include sensitive personal information in your profile, contact messages, resume, or application unless it is necessary for the role or specifically requested through an appropriate hiring or compliance step. Sensitive information may include health information, financial account details, full identity document numbers, religion, caste, political opinions, biometric data, precise location history, or information about children.

Some job processes may require limited identity, eligibility, address, background verification, or compliance information at a later stage. Where such information is requested, it should be collected only for the relevant purpose and handled with appropriate safeguards. Do not send sensitive documents through general contact forms unless we specifically ask you to use that channel.

5. Cookies, sessions, and similar technologies

AB Slate uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the website working, maintain secure sessions, support login and form submission, remember preferences such as theme or cookie acknowledgement, prevent misuse, diagnose errors, and understand basic site performance. Cookies are small files stored on your device, while local storage or similar browser technologies may store preferences within your browser.

Some cookies are essential for the platform to function. For example, session cookies help keep you signed in, and security tokens help protect forms from cross-site request forgery. If you block essential cookies, parts of the site may not work correctly, including account login and application submission.

We do not sell personal information. If we use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking technologies in the future, we will aim to provide appropriate notice and choices where required. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, but clearing cookies may sign you out or remove saved preferences. For more detail, please review our Cookie Policy.

6. Newsletter and job updates

If you subscribe to newsletters, job alerts, hiring updates, or similar communications, we use your email address and preferences to send those communications. We may also use subscription information to understand which types of roles or updates are useful to candidates.

You may unsubscribe from promotional or newsletter emails using the unsubscribe option provided in the message, if available, or by contacting us. We may still send service-related messages, such as account notices, application updates, security alerts, support responses, or important policy updates, where these are necessary for the platform or your relationship with us.

7. Contact forms and enquiries

When you contact AB Slate through a contact form, email, phone, or other support channel, we use the information you provide to understand your enquiry, respond to you, investigate issues, route the enquiry to the appropriate team, and maintain a record of the communication. Contact enquiries may relate to candidate support, employer partnerships, technical issues, privacy requests, corrections, or general questions.

Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive information in contact messages. If your request requires identity verification or additional documentation, we may ask for information reasonably needed to confirm the request and protect your account from unauthorized access.

8. How we use information

We use personal information for purposes connected with operating AB Slate, supporting candidates, managing applications, coordinating hiring, improving the platform, and meeting legal or administrative obligations. These purposes include:

  • Creating, authenticating, and managing candidate accounts.
  • Displaying job listings and enabling candidates to apply for roles.
  • Assessing candidate profiles, resumes, and application responses for relevant opportunities.
  • Sharing applications with the partner employer or hiring team connected to a role.
  • Coordinating interview calls, screening steps, onboarding steps, or follow-up communications.
  • Responding to contact forms, support requests, corrections, deletion requests, and privacy enquiries.
  • Sending newsletters, job alerts, and service communications in line with your preferences and applicable law.
  • Maintaining application records, admin notes, audit trails, and operational workflows.
  • Improving site usability, job matching, candidate experience, reliability, and security.
  • Preventing fraud, spam, misuse, unauthorized access, and other harmful activity.
  • Debugging errors, monitoring performance, enforcing terms, and protecting AB Slate, candidates, partner employers, and the public.
  • Complying with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, dispute resolution, or law enforcement requirements where applicable.

We may process information based on your consent, your request to use the platform, the need to perform or take steps connected with a candidate service, legitimate business interests in operating and securing AB Slate, contractual arrangements with partner employers and service providers, and compliance with applicable law.

9. How we share information

We share personal information only where relevant to the purposes described in this policy. We do not sell candidate personal information. We may share information with:

  • Partner employers and hiring teams - when you apply for a role or ask to be considered for an opportunity, we may share your profile, resume, contact details, application answers, screening notes, and related information with the relevant company or hiring representatives.
  • Service providers - vendors and professionals who help us host the website, store data, send email, manage communications, monitor security, analyze performance, provide support tools, or maintain business systems. These providers may process information only for the services they provide to us.
  • Nestiko and AB Slate administrators - authorized team members, administrators, recruiters, operations staff, and technical personnel may access information where needed to operate the platform, process applications, support users, maintain systems, or investigate issues.
  • Verification, onboarding, or operational partners - where a role requires verification, interview coordination, onboarding, background checks, attendance, assignment, or other role-specific processes, relevant information may be shared with parties involved in that process.
  • Legal, safety, and compliance recipients - courts, regulators, government authorities, law enforcement, professional advisers, insurers, or other parties where disclosure is required or appropriate to comply with law, enforce terms, protect rights, prevent harm, or respond to lawful requests.
  • Business transfer parties - if AB Slate is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or transfer of business assets, information may be reviewed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.

Mail or system logs may record operational details such as message metadata, delivery status, errors, or copies needed for troubleshooting, audit, or support. We describe this generally because the exact mail processing setup may change over time.

10. Retention

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including account management, application processing, candidate support, employer coordination, security, audit, dispute handling, and legal or accounting requirements. Retention periods may differ depending on the type of record, the role applied for, partner employer requirements, whether an application is active, and whether we need to preserve records for compliance or dispute resolution.

Account and profile information may be retained while your account remains active. Application records may be retained after a job closes so that we can maintain hiring history, respond to candidate questions, evaluate future suitability if appropriate, and support partner employer records. Contact enquiries may be retained long enough to resolve the matter and maintain a reasonable business record. Technical logs are usually retained for shorter periods unless needed for security, debugging, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.

When information is no longer needed, we may delete it, anonymise it, aggregate it, or securely archive it according to operational requirements. Backup copies may remain for a limited period until overwritten or deleted through normal backup cycles.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These measures may include HTTPS transport, hashed passwords, role-based access controls, admin authentication, restricted access to uploaded documents, logging, monitoring, backup practices, and periodic review of platform security.

No online service can guarantee complete security. You can help protect your information by using a strong and unique password, keeping your login credentials private, signing out on shared devices, keeping your email account secure, and promptly telling us if you suspect unauthorized account access or misuse.

12. Candidate rights and choices

Subject to applicable Indian law and reasonable verification, you may have the right to access certain personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information, request deletion of information, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, ask questions about how information is processed, or raise a grievance about privacy handling.

You can update many profile details directly after signing in, if account features are available. For information that cannot be edited from your account, or for requests involving application history, resume files, contact enquiries, newsletter subscriptions, or deletion, please contact us using the details below.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We may also decline, limit, or delay a request where allowed by law, such as when information is needed for an active application, legal obligation, security investigation, dispute, audit record, fraud prevention, or another legitimate purpose. If we cannot fully complete a request, we will try to explain the reason in a reasonable manner.

13. Corrections and deletion requests

Accurate candidate information helps us and partner employers evaluate applications fairly and contact you about relevant opportunities. If your name, phone number, email address, city, work history, resume, availability, or other application details change, please update your profile or ask us to correct the record.

If you request deletion, we will review the request and delete or anonymise information where reasonably possible and legally appropriate. Deleting your account or application data may affect pending applications, interview coordination, access to your profile, and future matching. Information already shared with a partner employer may need to be requested directly from that employer if they control their own copy.

To unsubscribe from newsletters or job alerts, use the unsubscribe option where available or contact us. To stop application-related communications, please tell us which role or application your request relates to; some service messages may still be necessary while an application, dispute, or compliance matter is active.

14. Children and minors

AB Slate is intended for people seeking work opportunities and is not directed to children. Candidates should use the platform only if they are legally eligible to apply for the relevant role. Many roles may require candidates to be at least 18 years old or to meet age, identity, right-to-work, licensing, or safety requirements set by law or by the partner employer.

We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. If you believe a child or minor has provided information to AB Slate in a way that is not appropriate for the platform, please contact us so we can review and take suitable action.

15. Cloud storage and cross-border processing

AB Slate may use cloud hosting, email, storage, security, analytics, communication, and business service providers to operate the platform. Depending on the provider and system configuration, personal information may be stored or processed in India or in other countries. These countries may have data protection rules that differ from those in India.

Where information is processed outside India, we aim to use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service, such as access controls, contractual obligations, provider security measures, and limiting processing to the purposes described in this policy. The exact location of processing may change if we update our infrastructure or service providers.

16. Third-party links and employer sites

Job listings, communications, or partner workflows may link to third-party websites, forms, maps, messaging services, assessment tools, or employer systems. AB Slate is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services that we do not operate. Before submitting information to a third-party site or employer system, review the privacy information provided by that party.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our platform, hiring workflows, service providers, legal requirements, or business practices. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last revised. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the website, email, account notice, or another reasonable method.

Your continued use of AB Slate after an updated policy is posted means the updated policy applies to information processed after the effective date, subject to applicable law. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
